the love for our Sicily.
ETNABITTER - BITTER VERMOUTH
Bitter and vermouth are the liqueurs mostly used in the traditional aperitifs, this customary started in the north of Italy and was quickly spread all over the world. Just like the habit of the aperitif itself. Rossa (red) decided to launch its idea of liquor for the aperitif, taking the best of the two worlds, creating a hybrid between these two pillars of Italian drinks. To challenge the universe of the usual Italian aperitifs, Rossa used its expertise to create herbal infusions and other plant extracts, such as the famous peel of the red blood oranges of mount Etna, produced thanks to the nature of the soil and the strong thermal excursion. It also decided to use wine, winking at the vermouth, which often the bitter contrasts. The choice falls on the grapefruit wine, a famous Sicilian product with unique organoleptic characteristics in the world. Etna bitter is not very pleasant served on its own! Instead, it is proposed for a minimalist mixology, based on the quality and not on the quantity of the ingredients. The newcomer to the Rossa house is in fact, an alternative to traditional aperitif drinks, aimed at a demanding audience, attentive to the quality of what they consume and probably tired of the usual colourful industrial appetizers. That is why it is perfectly in line with current trends and with increasing attention to natural products. Natural like honey, made from the hives in the citrus of Rossa, at the bottom of the volcano, which gives Etna bitter its sweet note and its characteristic golden color: the gold of Etna replaces the usual caramel. Etna bitter is the eclectic mixer that will make the most demanding bartenders happy. It will inspire new cocktails, which will soon gain a special place in the world's best bars drink lists.
